Assistant bachelor and master, Forum Kunst, artistic mentoring, art projects
Marion Ritzmann (*1978) studied fine arts (Bachelor of Arts) at the Academy of Art and Design in Basel (2002 – 2005) and at the University of the Arts (Master of Arts in fine arts) in Zurich (2013 – 2016). Since 2016 she has been part of the admission committee of Visarte.
She thinks and works with and within systems. She has tried to define the starting point for developing a work as an «aesthetic» moment in everyday life. «I understand my work as an ongoing process, i.e. individual elements from previous works reappear in those that follow.»
Marion Ritzmann’s works have been shown in various solo exhibitions, for example: On turns, lines and areas, L’Assaut de la menuiserie, lieu d’art contemporain, Saint-Étienne (2018); Formation (Strange attractor) #1-3, Lokal-int, Biel (2017); Moving Objects in Rose Madder, Kunstraum Aarau (2014); as well as in group exhibitions such as BIANCA, curated by Pazioli & Nicolas Raufaste, L’OV / Espace off du CAN – Centre d’art contemporain de Neuchâtel (2017); Performance schreiben: Skript, Notation, Partitur, a project by Sibylle Omlin, Kunstraum Kreuzlingen (2016); Neupräsentation Kunstsammlung, Museum zu Allerheiligen, Schaffhausen (2015); Huis clos, Zone d’Expérimentation#5, L’espace Hors les Murs, Marseille (2012); Machines for Living, Bezalel, Yaffo 23, Jerusalem (2012); A.I.R.4-Artist in Residence, Trainee, Berlin (2011); and Re:Re Residence Revisited, Cabaret Voltaire, Zurich (2009).
