Alex Turgeon (b. 1988, Halifax, Nova Scotia) is a Canadian artist based in Berlin. He received his BFA from Emily Carr University in 2010. Diverse re- search practices develop networks of associations with his work relating to the social dynamics of gender, sexuality and economy that in turn operate as lexical elements in the conceptual structure of his art making, manifest- ing as forms of poetry, performance and installation. His work has been presented at KW Institute for Contemporary Art (Berlin), Trans Art Trien- nial, Exile Gallery, Center, Spike Art, After the Eclipse, Blackland, Import Projects (Berlin), Franz Kaka (Toronto), Proxy Gallery and Brown University (Rhode Island), as part of Poetry as Practice online exhibition hosted by Rhizome and the New Museum (New York), Contemporary Art Centre (Vil- nius), French Riviera (London), Toves (Copenhagen), the AIRBNB Pavilion for the 2014 Architecture Biennale (Venice). Upcoming presentations in- clude Tunnel Tunnel (Lausanne), Tate (Liverpool) and Clearview Ltd. (Lon- don). His recent collection of poetry, Love Poems for Ceres is published by Broken Dimanche Press, Berlin.
