Art Talks: Youssef Limoud

Youssef Limoud is an Egyptian artist and a writer born in Giza-Egypt, 1964. He graduated from the College of Fine Arts – the painting department, Cairo, 1987, and studied at the Kunstakademie in Düsseldorf with Michael Buthe 1991-1992. His work has been shown internationally in solo and group exhibitions. Currently his work is to be seen in two major exhibitions in Paris at La grande halle de la Villette and at L’institut du monde arabe. Recently he won the Leopold Senghor award of Dak’art 2016 for his installation Maqam. As a writer, he published some books about art, Egyptian art history and poetry. Limoud lives and works be- tween Basel and Cairo.
