Exhibition in collaboration with Atelier Mondial as part of the Oslo Night on the Campus of the Arts
• Atelier Mondial. Opening September 23, 2017, 6 pm
With Shi Ke, Marie Matusz, Mitchell Gilbert Messina and Dorian Sari.
X-Show is a potential exhibition that leads the viewers to experiment speculative situations based on the thin border between reality and fiction. The artists work on a space in which their practice gets influenced by each other in order to develop or alter meanings and situations where X is considered as undefined subject and plays with possibilities of being or not being.
Shi Ke (China)
Currently a resident at Atelier Mondial in Basel, Shi Ke’s practice stems from creative writing, performance art, experimental theatre and other live genres such as moving images and social engagement art. His works have toured in Beijing, Shanghai and London.
Marie Matusz (France)
Currently a student of the FHNW Art Institute Master’s program in Basel, Marie Matusz’s work finds its sources in sociology and phenomenology by considering the close relations with technologies through installative displays.
Mitchell Gilbert Messina (South Africa)
Focused on producing fictional bodies of work through the use of faked secondary sources and documentation, Messina explores the potentialities of contemporary art through speculative ideas. He is currently an artist in residence at Atelier Mondial in Basel.
Dorian Sari (Turkey)
Observer of politics, motions and social movements, Dorian Sari’s multi disciplinary installations look into human beings and cultures through his personal mythology, creating a sublimation of actuality with materials found in the street. He is currently a student of the FHNW Institut Kunst Master program in Basel.
