Art Talks: Alan Bogana

Alan Bogana is a multidisciplinary artist based in Geneva, Switzerland. His art practice involves sculpture, computer graphics, electronics, time- based media and holography, and his works are very often presented in the form of installations. During the last years his research has focused on the exploration, real and fictional, of the behaviour of light and its interactions with matter. He completed a Fine Arts Diploma with honours at the Geneva University of Art and Design in 2009, a specialization in computer graphics in 2010 and one in artistic research methodologies at the Zürich Univer- sity of Art and Design in 2013. Recent and forthcoming solo exhibitions include: Mineralogy Museum Mines, Paris (2018); La Rada, Locarno (2017); OnOff, Winterthur (2016); Kunsthaus, Langenthal (2015); Hard Hat, Geneva (2013); Blank Projects, Cape Town (2011). Selected group exhibitions in- clude: CC, Copenhagen; Museo d’arte, Mendrisio (2017); Museo Cantonale, Lugano (2016); Fri-Art, Freiburg; MAGA, Gallarate (2015); Wallis Triennale, Fully; ISEA, Dubai; Swiss Art Awards, Basel; Ammerman Center, New Lon- don (2014), Art en plein air, Môtiers; VHS Festival, Rotterdam (2011).
He has been artist in residence in Zug with the Landis & Gyr Foundation (2015), at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris (2014), at the Summer Academy Zentrum Paul Klee in Bern (2014), at the Swiss Institute in Rome (2013-14) and in Cape Town, South Africa with Pro Helvetia (2011).
